THIS SITE:
[Summary and Descriptions]
Welcome
to Monte Cook's Website!
This
is the place to find cool news and roleplaying material
from me, the author of the Dungeons & Dragons Dungeon
Master's Guide and founder of Malhavoc Press. Here's
a tour of the site's main sections:
Whos
this Monte guy? Besides co-designing the new edition of
the Dungeons & Dragons game, Ive written a couple
novels, some short stories, and many, many roleplaying game
products. Look here for my bio
and credits list, as well as links to stuff I've written
that's online.
Malhavoc
Press is my d20 imprint. Hallmarks of Malhavoc products
include unusual magic, monsters, and evocative elements
that go beyond traditional fantasy. Buy Malhavoc titles
in electronic format at this site or as traditional print
publications in stores from our publishing partners at Sword
& Sorcery.
Check
out "Line of Sight" for
my weekly column about gaming, comics, movies, cool toys,
conspiracy theory, and other topics of geekly interest.
I've
created montecook.com primarily as a place where
I could put bits of roleplaying content for the d20 System
that you can use in your games. "The
Stuff" is the place to find it. I'll update
this frequently with spells, feats, magic items, rules,
characters, or whatever else I think of, including small,
downloadable PDF supplements.
"Another
Rave" is where I go on and on about cool stuff I
like, such as the power of fans, comedian Eddie Izzard,
and more. Updated when the mood strikes me.
What
logic is there in putting miles of "dungeons"
full of nasty critters and treasure beneath a city? "Ptolus"
is my current D&D campaign and shows demonstrates my take
on this question. Check out this frequently-updated material
from the campaign if you're interested.
As I
mentioned earlier, I wrote the new D&D Dungeon Master's
Guide. I've put a section on the site called "DMs
Only" where you'll find tips, tricks, advice, rules
variants, and other stuff for running a D&D game. If you
found value in the DMG, you'll want to check out this section
frequently. Players: KEEP OUT.
My "Reviews"
section is a place where I occasionally post my thoughts
on the latest offerings from the roleplaying industry.
Okay
-- your turn! Don't neglect to check in with my Message
Boards and talk with me -- and each other -- about
your favorite gaming topics. Feel free to post whatever
you want there (but be civil). I'd love to hear what you
have to say about material you've read here. Powered by
ezboard.
My Links
section contains sites I value and visit frequently on the
subject of gaming, including the personal home pages of
other Wizards of the Coast game designers.
The
"Archive" page
lets you access previous content from the site by section.
