The
Book of Eldritch Might Wins
3 EN World Awards!
7/30/01
Malhavoc
Press is thrilled, proud (and surprised) to announce that
our premiere release, The Book of Eldritch Might,
has won three EN World d20 System Awards! In addition, MONTECOOK.com
has been recognized as Best Official Website.
The
Book of Eldritch Might won the award for Best Rulebook.
Monte received the Best Writer nod for his work on the book,
and Sue Weinlein Cook came away with the Best Editor award
for her role in its production.
"I
am
so pleased -- and a little amazed -- to have won,"
said Monte following the ceremony. "Mostly, Sue and
I consider ourselves lucky to find that people enjoy reading
the books we put together. The Book of Eldritch Might
was really a labor of love."
The
awards took place Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. Central
time in an online ceremony hosted by D&D creator Gary
Gygax. (In case you missed the ceremony, you can read
the transcript at the EN World site.)
Monte
and I Not Voted "Savviest Chat Room Participants"
A Note From Sue
Monte
attended the first half of the ceremony incognito. Because
we were at my relatives' house for a cookout during the
awards, we signed into the chat using my uncle's computer.
We didn't have our special "nominee" password
with us, so we couldn't immediately gain speaker access
to the chat room. Instead, we spent the first third of the
chat trying to figure out how to get a moderator to give
us speaking privileges.
It
was excruciating seeing Monte's name come up for two awards,
and hear Gary say he'd have to drive the awards over to
our house, when we were there all the time! We just couldn't
tell you! We were sitting there talking to the screen...
you should have seen us. Incidentally, my cousins were very
excited about the whole thing.
Thanks
to the moderators of the event for saving us, and to all
of you for your continued support. We hope to bring you
more of the same great gaming material in Demon God's
Fane, coming August 31 right here from Malhavoc Press.
